LEICESTER have been handed a major boost ahead of tonight’s (Wednesday) Championship opener at Birmingham.
The Watling JCB Lions will travel to Perry Barr at full strength after Australian star Ryan Douglas was declared fit to return ahead of schedule.
Douglas was involved in a spectacular crash in Heat 14 of the Lions’ home win over Sheffield when he slammed into the back-straight fence, and although he escaped serious injury he was expected to have to sit out for a week.
However, he has responded well to intensive physiotherapy and he is now able to take his place in the side.
Lions’ season ticket holders are reminded that £10 admission is available at Perry Barr tonight upon production of their season ticket.
